Teaching and Learning Center

  Teaching and Learning Center
For the Changing Academic Environment

The character of teaching and learning is fast evolving in response to the changing needs of today’s business world, and so with them are learning environments. The University of Idaho plans to address these academic changes with a second University Center facility initiative, the Teaching and Learning Center.

The initiative will renovate and make additions to the University Classroom Center, currently the major teaching facility on the UI campus. The new Teaching and Learning Center will meet the needs of faculty and undergraduate and graduate students with the inclusion of the following elements:
  • Technology-rich learning environments
  • A multimedia training lab to assist faculty in the preparation of new technology-integrated course work,
  • Digital imaging and presentation graphics lab
  • General purpose computer lab
  • Technically equipped study spaces
  • Student academic support services (TAAC, MSAC, SSS)
  • Student Advisory Services & Counseling Center
  • Educational Technology Services (ETS)

A corridor will be constructed to link the University Commons to the Teaching and Learning Center, facilitating the connections between the living and learning environment of UI’s residential campus.
Renovation and construction will begin following completion of the University Commons.
