For meeting alumni, student and visitor needs

An important objective of the University Center is to cluster programs and services that "reach out" to the university community. Currently, these services are spread across campus, some in hard-to-locate places. The proposed Alumni and Enrollment Services Center will bring key services to the edge of campus to welcome, and be utilized by, on and off-campus patrons of the UI at an easily accessible location.

The following are programs and functions proposed for placement in the existing Student Union Building, proposed to become the Alumni and Enrollment Services Center.
  • New Student Services
  • Registrar
  • Admissions
  • Advising
  • Financial Aid
  • Selected Student Business Functions
  • Museum Space
  • Gallery Space
  • Miscellaneous Retail Outlets
  • Collection Display Areas
  • Space for Alumni, University Relations, Development and University Communications
  • Information Services
  • Conferences & Events
  • Ticketing

These changes proposed for the Student Union Building will be a hallmark of the turn of the century.
