CONSOLIDATED INVESTMENT TRUST (C.I.T.)
The Consolidated Investment Trust (C.I.T.) is a pooled endowment fund managed by the University of Idaho Foundation, Inc., for the benefit of the University of Idaho. Scholarships, research, performing arts, lectureships, and many other programs of the University are supported by the C.I.T. endowment earnings. As of June 30, 2008, the market value of the C.I.T.'s portfolio of marketable securities was $176.1 million, and was comprised of 1,290 individual endowments. |

C.I.T.'s Goal
"To invest in securities with the objectives of maximizing long-term total return, ensuring safety of principal and providing satisfactory annual income."
In other words, to provide regular and reliable annual income to support the scholarships and other donor programs that were created by the donors, while at the same time protecting, maintaining and increasing the purchasing power of the corpus.
