The goal of the UI McNair Achievement Program is to expand the participation of low-income, first generation, and underrepresented students in doctoral study.
McNair offers an integrated program of academic and scholarly activities, mentoring, a paid summer research internship, and academic and personal support intended to ensure UI McNair Scholars achieve the well-rounded background necessary for admission into graduate school and the attainment of a doctoral degree.
