Spencer Martin, director

Mr. Martin is an alum of UI and has experience with the band as an
undergraduate, graduate TA, and staff member. He has over a decade of
collegiate teaching experience and is a highly respected music educator in
Idaho. He is also an extremely accomplished percussionist and has performed

Nikki Crathorne, assistant director
Nikki Crathorne has been the assistant director of the Vandal Marching Band since 1996. She is an alumna of the band's trumpet section and of UI where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. She is director of the award winning Moscow All-City Band and teaches at Moscow's St. Mary's School.
Barb Kirchmeier, color guard instructor
Barb Kirchmeier has been affiliated with UI since 1996. She earned bachelors and masters degrees in Education and a masters degree in English while at UI. She marched in the UI band from 1997-2004 and was the color guard instructor from 1999-2004 and since 2007. She is married to band alum Ben Kirchmeier and they have a beautiful daughter, June, and son, Jacob.
Cherice Cameron, administrative assistant
Cherice Cameron has been affiliated with the UI band since 2000. While her prinicpal instrument is the viola, she is a band supporter at heart. Her primary duties include planning band travel, overseeing attendance, and serving as honorary "band mom". She is currently the director of the Moscow Junior High string program and is the mother of six future band members.

Torrey Lawrence

Torrey Lawrence is a Professor of Music at the Lionel Hampton School of Music and also serves as the school's Associate Director. He directed the marching band for 14 years from 1998-2011. He is a faculty member in the School of Music where he teaches tuba, euphonium, and Concert Band. See his full bio.
Alan Gemberling
Alan Gemberling is a Professor of Music at the Lionel Hampton School of Music where he serves as Director of Bands. He was the director of the UI Marching Band from 1988-1998 and currently directs the Wind Ensemble and teaches trombone. Since 1998 he has aslo been the primary announcer for the Marching Band. Daniel Bukvich
Daniel Bukvich currently teaches percussion, freshman music theory and ear training, composition, and jazz choirs at UI where he is a Professor of Music. He was the director of the UI Marching Band from 1978-1988 and still frequently arranges for the ensemble. More information can be found at his website: www.bukvichmusic.com
