History

"Here We Have Idaho" serves not only as the alma matter of UI, but also as Idaho's state song. The text was written by McKinley Helm (chorus) and Albert J. Tompkins (verses). The music was composed by Sallie Hume-Douglas. It became the official state song by enactment of the twenty-first session of the Idaho Legislature.
