The impact of federal Department of education TRiO grants on education in the state of Idaho is tremendous. At the end of fiscal year 2003, five public Idaho colleges and universities were funded to prepare over 7,500 low-income, first generation, disabled, and underrepresented students and adults for college.

Over $5.4 million of federal money funds 21 TRiO programs in Idaho.

  • furthering public awareness, at the state level, of the needs of disadvantaged students enrolled in, or aspiring to, postsecondary education;
  • forming coalitions with other organizations that have similar purposes relative to ethnic, minority, and/or disadvantaged groups;
