GREEN STAR®, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that encourages businesses, schools, and government agencies to incorporate techniques of waste reduction, energy conservation and pollution prevention in their places of business.

Founded in 1990 by business and governmental agencies in Anchorage,  AK.  Green Star currently comprise of twelve chapters in varying locations throughout the United States.  Our chapter in Lewiston, North Central Idaho developed through the efforts of Lewiston Chamber of Commerce, the Idaho Division of Environmental Quality, and the North Central District Health department.

Businesses that enroll in Green Star® strive to complete 12 of 18 standards. Whether it is having your business purchase materials with recycled content or implementing practices that conserve energy, the standards make good business sense and can save any business money. Enrolling members have demonstrated that environmental leadership and saving money are compatible goals.
