UI students are active in student chapters of professional organizations. UI student chapters include:
ASCE—American Society of Civil Engineers
ITE—Institute of Transportation Engineers
SWE—Society of Women Engineers
ISPE—Idaho Society of Professional Engineers
ASCE Student Chapter
The University of Idaho ASCE student chapter competes in the Pacific Northwest Regional Conference. It has consistently placed in the regional conference competing against nearly a dozen schools and has qualified to compete at the national level as well. Recent regional awards have included:
