Greenhouses are environmentally controlled buildings used to grow plants which require conditions other than those present in the natural surroundings. This means that the greenhouse environment needs constant monitoring and control. This is conventionally done by walking through each greenhouse and physically sampling the different conditions inside. The purpose of this project, called the AutoGrove project, is to allow the greenhouse operator to be able to monitor the environmental conditions inside each greenhouse and consequently remotely control a portion of those conditions. This will allow facilities expansion or even simply allow the greenhouse operator the extra time and resources needed by other aspects of greenhouse management.
