Eco Dorm

Helping the University of Idaho Become a National Leader in Environmental Responsibility

Welcome Back!

The Fall 2001 semester will be the biggest ever for the Eco Dorm project.

We finally have all of our ducks in a row and are ready to move ahead full speed.

The web site http://www.uidaho.edu/ecodorm is new and improved with fully updated content (in progess).

We have also created a series of pages at http://www.eGroups.com/group/ecodorm that will prove VERY useful for coordinating the project and sharing information. Features include a message center, file exchange, and a database. Join by entering your email address in the box to the right ->

The database http://www.egroups.com/database/ecodorm is a list of projects that students in need of Senior Thesis, Internship, or Graduate Research projects can take on to earn credit toward degree requirements. Act Now!

The Eco Dorm Project has been accepted for publication at two national symposiums.

We presented a paper entitled "Can a 1950s Dormitory Become Sustainable?" at Solar Energy: The Power to Choose, Washington April 21-25, 2001.

A second paper, The Greening of a 1950's Dormitory, was presented at the Greening of the Campus 4 at Ball State University on September 20-22, 2001.

We are actively seeking participants at all levels, from Freshman to Professor, to contribute to this exciting real world project. If you want to get involved email us now at ecodorm@uidaho.edu.
