About the FMA
We seek to broaden the common interests between academicians and practitioners, provide opportunities for professional interaction between academicians, practitioners and students, promote the development and understanding of basic and applied research and of sound financial practices, and to enhance the quality of education in finance. The objectives of the organization are to ensure that its members:
Obtain valuable career information;
Develop professional insights and attitudes;
Increase professional and faculty contacts
Improve social and interpersonal skills
Demonstrate competence in skill areas beyond those needed to obtain a college degree
These objectives are met:
by encouraging social interaction between students, faculty, and businesses;
through professional speakers. FMA encourages members and nonmembers to attend regularly scheduled meetings to benefit from our guest speakers. Many of the professionals share personal success stories, insight into the business community, and ways students can prepare themselves for a changing world.
through Corporate Field Trips. The FMA club plans trips throughout the semester to different cities and firms located there. During these field trips, students get to experience firsthand how these companies operate. They get the chance to speak with company executives and gain valuable business contacts.
